Press Release – Dunedin City Council
Book Group Begins at City Library
Dunedin (Monday 1 July 2013) – From Monday 8 July, the Dunedin City Library will be offering two regular book group sessions for anyone who would like to take part.
The book groups will be held once a month, with morning and evening sessions to choose from. The first evening session will take place on Monday 8 July from 7.00pm – 8.00pm, and the first morning session on Thursday 11 July from 11.00am – 12 noon.
The meetings are an opportunity for people to relax and chat with other readers about the books they have enjoyed, swap recommendations for books to read, and learn about books and authors that are being published. Members can select their own reading material and read at their own pace, without the pressure of a deadline.
People read in a variety of ways, and anyone who prefers magazines and journals, reads using an e-reader, or loves listening to books on CD or MP3 players, is also entirely welcome to participate.
These new sessions will complement successful book groups that have been held at Waikouaiti Library and Mosgiel Library for several years and it is hoped that customers will enjoy the opportunity to meet like-minded people and share ideas.
The City Library book groups are free to join, and people are welcome to attend as and when they can. No bookings are required to participate, but people are encouraged to register their interest and receive email alerts, by contacting the City Library on (03) 474 3690 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
