Press Release – Arrow International
Arrow International Group Board Announces New CEO
Mark Hopwood has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of construction company Arrow International. Formerly CEO of the New Zealand operations, Arrow International (NZ) Ltd, Mr Hopwood has also been appointed to the Arrow Group Board.
“As CEO of Arrow International, Mark has overall responsibility for our New Zealand and Australian construction entities along with driving synergies with our property development business Arcus Property Ltd”, said Greg Thompson, Group Chairman of Arrow International.
“Recent years have seen Arrow’s performance in the market go from strength to strength with several major projects currently underway across New Zealand and Australia and close to a year’s worth of work in the pipeline. But we must never be complacent so Mark’s brief will be to continue our focus on operational excellence, forging greater synergies across the Group and exceeding clients’ expectations to further enhance our strong position.”
“Individuals with both the business acumen and leadership skills of someone like Mark are few and far between,” Mr Thompson added.
“The spread of Arrow’s projects across industries, both in construction and development terms is testimony to the depth and breadth of capability within the company. I feel privileged and excited to guide the company to the next level”, Hopwood said.
Arrow’s longstanding clients include blue chip brands Vodafone, Douglas Pharmaceuticals, Coca Cola, The Salvation Army, Massey University, the Remarkables ski field, the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Corrections and Housing New Zealand.
Arcus has several developments underway including Portlink, a 40ha industrial park flanking the main arterial route to the Port of Lyttelton and a joint venture partnership “Creating Communities” that involves the development of more than 300 new homes in Glen Innes, Auckland.
“Arrow has a long history of success and is single-mindedly focused on delivering for our clients and the community,’’ says Hopwood.
Hopwood joined Arrow in 2011 as CEO of Arrow International (NZ) Ltd and was previously CEO of an Australasian manufacturing organisation and prior to that executive general manager of strategy and development for Downer New Zealand. A civil engineer by training, Mr Hopwood is a Chartered Professional Engineer and holds a MBA from Otago University.
Matt Currie has been appointed CEO of Arcus Property, a company that develops industrial, commercial, residential and retail projects as part of Arrow International. He was previously Arcus’ Development Director and brings more than 20 years property experience to the role. Mr Currie has also been appointed to the Arrow Group Board.
